Shannons Dream Bike Build with Purpose Built Moto

I recently had the pleasure of working with Shannons Insurance on a new series called "The Shannons Dream Bike Build." The six-part series follows Tom Gilroy and his team at Purpose Built Moto as they take on the challenge of turning a less-than-perfect Honda CB500 into a brilliant custom bike for a client eagerly waiting for the finished product.

Tom and I collaborated on the storyboarding, production, and post-production of the series. It was filmed over a six-month period, with each episode running just under 15 minutes in length. We wanted to showcase the entire build process, from acquiring the right bike to presenting the finished product to the client.

The series was hosted on the Shannons Insurance YouTube channel, which has plenty of content for motoring enthusiasts. Shannons Insurance has a reputation for creating high-quality video content in the vintage, classic, and modified car and bike categories. We were excited to team up with them to bring this project to life.

During the series, viewers get to hang out inside the shop with Tom, Donny, and Jesse as they work their magic. The show also introduces a range of characters, including the owner of the custom bike, Scott, as he rides the rollercoaster of commissioning a build. We also meet the source of the donor bike, the wild back shed of collector 'Honest Dave.'

The series is not just highly edited fluff, but it shows that things can and do go wrong during project builds. Learning to navigate the solutions is a great insight for anyone dealing with vintage machinery. Whether you're looking at commencing your first project build or you're an old hand at the game, there are plenty of tips and tricks to enjoy.

Overall, it was an amazing experience to work on this project, and we are proud to have been a part of bringing it to life. I hope you enjoy watching the series as much as we enjoyed creating it.
